Do I get paid breaks at work?

Under the FLSA, employers who allow their workers to take breaks must pay them for all breaks that range from 5 to 20 minutes in duration. For breaks of 30 minutes or more, employers are not required to compensate. Additionally, lunch breaks do not warrant compensation unless the employee is consistently interrupted by work related business, or if they skip lunch to work.

If your employer is not compensating you for breaks and skipped lunches, contact the wage and overtime lawyers of Tycko & Zavareei LLP by calling 202-973-0900 to determine your legal options. You may be eligible to seek compensation for your losses.
